Who this is for
Owner of a store whose abandoned-checkout emails are missing or badly worded, and who wants them written without pressure tricks.
You are about to switch on abandoned-checkout emails, or your current ones were copied from a template and nobody checked them.
The result
You get three emails and plain-text versions, written for your store and checked by script for invented urgency or stock claims, unauthorised discounts, working links and an opt-out line. Five test checkouts on a test store each trigger all three emails with the right cart contents.
What is included
- Three emails at delays you choose, with plain-text versions
- A discount table that you write; no email offers more than it allows
- A script check for urgency and stock phrases, links and the opt-out line
- Five test checkouts on a test store that you own
- Settings to apply, written step by step
You receive
- Three email drafts and plain-text versions
- The discount table
- The script check results
- The test-checkout log
- Apply steps
What is not included
- Sending any email
- Deciding whether you may email these customers
- Consent, privacy or marketing law advice
- Fixing emails that do not send (see the fixing job)
- SMS or push notifications
- Real customer addresses
What we need from you first
- Which platform and email tool you use
- Your current wording, if any
- Whether you offer discounts and under what rules
- No customer data or store login
Never send passwords, keys, customer records or confidential code in the first enquiry. Secure handover is agreed after scoping.
How we check it is done
- In five test checkouts on a test store, each triggers all three emails at the set delays with the right cart contents. The delays are shortened to minutes on the test store for the test, then restored.
- Every link in every email resolves to the right cart or page on the test store.
- No email contains an urgency or stock claim that is not backed by a field you approved, and every email has an opt-out line; one invented claim fails the test.
- No email offers a discount above your table.
You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
When we would stop or decline
- You want emails sent to people who did not agree to receive them
- You want countdown or scarcity claims that are not true
- You want us to send the emails
- No test store can be made
Questions
Do you send the emails?
No. We write and test them on a test store. You switch them on.
Is this legal advice?
No. Whether you may email these customers is for you and your adviser.
What if my emails do not send at all?
That is a fixing job, listed separately.
Does a pass mean it will be right next month?
No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.
